Awards
Over the years, a number of writers whose articles have appeared in India Together have been recognised for their work. Some of the awards they have received are listed in this page.
1. CIOSA Sewa Mela award, 2008
The Confederation of Indian Organisations for Service and Advocacy (CIOSA) is the Chennai-based corporate social responsibility arm of the MaFoi Foundation. On 16 March 2008, at Valluvar Kottam in Chennai, CIOSA awarded its Seva Mela 2008 award for Media to India Together for its role in empowering people through Media.
CIOSA is building a networking institution for that connects NGOs, companies and individuals and helps them work together. Subramaniam Vincent received the award for India Together from Tamil film actor Nasser.
2. Developing Asia Journalism awards, 2006
The Third Annual Developing Asia Journalism awards were announced in Manila on April 19. M Suchitra was named the Development Journalist of the year, for her article in India Together on access to health care for adivasis in Kerala. Deepa A received won the 'Poverty Issues' award for her article on discrimination that keeps poor children out of school in Delhi.
3. Ramnath Goenka award
The inaugural Ramnath Goenka awards included one winner from India Together; Ramesh Menon received the Excellence in Journalism award for Environmental Reporting, for his detailed report on how the over-use of pesticides is turning Punjab into a poison field.
4. Developing Asia Journalism awards 2005
The Second Annual Developing Asia Journalism awards were announced in Manila on 1 April 2005. Lalitha Sridhar won an Honourable Mention for her articles on Water Supply and Irrigation.
